Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is Mexican musician who was born into a musical family. The music she grew up with was classic, old boleros, and traditional romantic, ranchero, and ballads of romance. Ana likes tangos as much as opera, and various other dramatic kinds. She began her singing and learning the piano with her mom, then began more intense vocal training at the age of sixteen with world-renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. It was at the School of Music of Guadalajara University and the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico continued her music education. In Guadalajara along with Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous opera choirs as well as chamber ensembles. The year 2000 saw her move to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2007, she re-located to her home in southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and regularly performs as a soloist in traditional Latin American music at private performances. She has been involved in many local activities, both a teacher and performer, because she is passionate about the arts and music. Ana was also part of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently teaching for The Performance Loft. Ana hopes that through her performance songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she can inspire a passion, particularly among the younger generation, for keeping this music in the present.
